United Technologies gives upbeat forecast, affirms 2004 earnings.

Sep. 15--United Technologies Corp. Chairman George David reaffirmed the company's earnings estimate for 2004 in an upbeat presentation to analysts Tuesday.
David told analysts at a Morgan Stanley conference in Arizona that Hartford-based UTC expects 2004 earnings in the range of $5.40 to $5.50 a share. The analysts' consensus estimate is $5.48 a share for the year. UTC also reaffirmed its revenue projection for the year of $36 billion.
Citing strong performances by its Otis Elevator and Carrier Corp. division, as well as an improving commercial aerospace aftermarket, the company had increased its forecast in July when it released second-quarter earnings...
