Reuters recruits cheap help in India, Thailand.

Sep. 18--Media group Reuters is stepping up plans to recruit more cheap workers in India and Thailand.
Around one-fifth of its employees -- 2,500 staff -- will be based at low-cost centres in 18 months' time.
Reuters is adding 50 staff a month in Bangalore. Unlike Indian recruits to HSBC and BT, not all of them are basic processing posts.
The news provider took on 46 journalists in India this summer after cutting 20 similar posts in more expensive locations.
Employees also collate investment banks' company data thousands of miles from Reuters' signature trading screens in the City of London and Wall Street.
