Hong Kong-based port manager wins bid.

Sep. 18--Hong Kong-based Hutchison Port has won a bid to invest and manage six piers at the Laem Chabang deep-sea port despite strong reservations expressed about the transparency of the bidding process from rivals Singaporean PSA Corporation and the Port of Dubai.

Samart Yolpak, the deputy permanent secretary of the Transport Ministry and chairman the bidding committee, confirmed the results yesterday of the bid for piers A3, C1, C2, D1, D2 and D3 at Laem Chabang. The winning consortium consists of Hutchison Port, Hutchison Thailand and Lexton (Thailand).
