Partner's purchase may clarify future of downtown Boulder, Colo., properties.

Sep. 21--The cloud over the future of 15 downtown Boulder buildings may soon lift when J Nold Midyette buys his deceased business partner's stake in the structures and removes them from an estate court battle.

Midyette, an architect and developer, said he has contracted to buy the Rieder estate's ownership interest in the properties and should close on the purchase by the end of the month.

Midyette already owned nearly half the cumulative equity in the 15 properties, all of which are on or near Pearl Street and estimated to be worth about $80 million.

He already managed the buildings, and his purchase of the estate's ownership would mean little...
