Weston, Fla., officials to battle cable-television company.

Sep. 22--WESTON, Fla. -- The city's attempt to free more than 16,000 homeowners from having to pay for mandatory basic cable television will take a new turn next week when officials launch an all-out offensive against those considered responsible.

The fight against Advanced Cable Communications of Danville, Ky., and Arvida-JMB Partners, Weston's primary developer, is expected to land in court. But Mayor Eric Hersh said the city is ready for the battle and on Monday he will ask commissioners to budget more than $315,000 to pay for the fight.
