Sep. 30--Castle Vampyr is creepy enough in the bright sunlight of midafternoon.
Gnarled branches of dead trees seem to reach out like ghostly hands at everyone who approaches, and a tortured cry escapes through the castle door.
But this isn't the woods of Transylvania. It's Orlando.
Sunlight comes through the door of a Universal Studios sound stage a few steps from Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast. Scenic artists placed the trees just so. And that sharp cry is from the electric drill that a crew member is using to fasten a candelabra to the cement floor.
Universal doesn't want guests to trip as they're trying to flee the castle's 22 vampires...
