St. Paul Travelers, Prudential say job levels fairly steady in Connecticut.

Oct. 2--The St. Paul Travelers Cos. and Prudential Financial had good news for Connecticut Friday as they told regulators that their employment in the state has remained fairly steady since their separate April 1 mergers.
However, more job cuts are expected at both companies.
Prudential Financial, which acquired CIGNA Corp.'s retirement services business in Hartford for $2.1 billion, says its workforce here has dropped by 28 positions since the merger -- from 798 to 770 employees.
Since the merger of Travelers Property Casualty Corp. and The St. Paul Cos., St. Paul Travelers says its total employment in Connecticut is "not less than the pre-merger...
