Discount clothing retailer opens Waterbury, Conn., store.

Oct. 5--Pay/half Family Clothes, a discount clothing outlet that opened its third Connecticut store in the Waterbury Plaza six weeks ago, is finding out that business in Waterbury isn't half bad.

Sales at the company's new outlet at 184 Chase Ave. are running 18 percent to 20 percent higher than the company had projected, said Susan Leventhal, the director of marketing for A&E Stores Inc., the Peterborough, N.J. company that owns that Pay/half chain of discount clothing stores.
