Oct. 7--COMPANIES BOOSTED BY MANUFACTURING GRANTS: SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. -- Nine Capital Region companies will share more than $1.1 million awarded under the New York Skilled Manufacturing Resource Training Program.
The grants were announced Wednesday by Lt. Gov. Mary Donohue, who traveled to Espey Manufacturing & Electronics Corp. in Saratoga Springs.
Espey is getting $160,200.
Allocated to the state through the federal Workforce Investment Act, the money aims to increase competitiveness in the manufacturing sector by supporting worker training programs, officials said.
