Witness tampering issue raised in Peregrine Systems fraud case.

Oct. 8--A federal prosecutor told a judge yesterday there was evidence of witness tampering in the accounting fraud case against eight former Peregrine Systems executives and three others who worked closely with the company.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Sanjay Bhandari raised the issue during an afternoon arraignment for the software industry executives. The hearing was held in a downtown San Diego courtroom before U.S. Magistrate James F. Stiven.
