Innovations vie for commercial interest at Philadelphia technology event.

Oct. 9--When University of Pennsylvania doctoral student P. Peter Ghoroghchian brought together two of his professors for an academic experiment, he was also thinking of the idea's commercial prospects. This week he was among a throng of Penn researchers pitching their innovations to prospective investors and business managers.

The Ghoroghchian team invention, named Fluorocell, would use a fluorescent nanoparticle injected in patients to illuminate diseased cells for examination without surgery.
