Oct. 9--GULF AIR LAUNCHES SHORT BREAKS: Gulf air has launched a range of short break holidays. The flight and hotel packages target business people who have little time to take full holidays. Travellers from the UAE have a choice of destinations including Bangkok, Cyprus, Jordan and Kuala Lumpur. The offer runs until November 30.

BAHRAIN STARTS DESERT RESORT WORK: Work on Bahrain's Al-Areen Desert Spa and Resort is set to commence before the end of the year.
