At convention, Wichita, Kan., competes with other cities for aviation business.

Oct. 13--LAS VEGAS -- As Wichita's aviation companies show off their products at the National Business Aviation Association's annual convention, Wichita economic development officials are busy promoting Wichita.

Wichita may call itself the Air Capital, but the city's dominant status in business aviation is not something the Greater Wichita Economic Development Coalition is taking for granted. The coalition has a booth at this year's show.

A host of other cities and states -- promoting themselves as places to locate an aviation business -- are also represented at the show, which opened Tuesday at the Las Vegas Convention Center.
