Englewood, N.J., hospital stresses privacy, diagnosis.

Oct. 18--The $65 million new building opening at Englewood Hospital and Medical Center this week says a lot about the health of North Jersey residents, their values and how medicine has changed.

It devotes an entire section -- more than double the space assigned previously -- to the detection of breast cancer, the most common cancer for women.

It includes sliding doors where curtains would once have sufficed, individual bathrooms where public restrooms once were enough and multiple waiting rooms to separate various types of patients -- all signs of the premium placed on patient privacy.
