Insurance probe deepens as Aetna, CIGNA get slapped with new subpoenas.

Oct. 19--The New York corruption investigation making property-casualty insurers and brokers sweat is now also taking a closer look at potential fraud in health, life and reinsurance lines.

Health insurers Aetna Inc. and CIGNA Corp. confirmed Monday that they have received additional subpoenas from the New York attorney general's office since the ones the companies disclosed in June.

The investigation by New York Attorney General Eliot Spitzer is exploring bid rigging and questionable compensation arrangements between insurers and insurance brokers.
