Former Red Hat executive lands job at software firm SAS.

Oct. 20--Kevin Thompson, who resigned as Red Hat's chief financial officer this summer as the company sought a more experienced executive, has landed a top job at SAS.

Thompson has been named CFO of the world's biggest privately held software company, the first to fill the role in two years. His appointment not only will add someone to oversee the Cary company's operations, but it might also be good for business.
