Oct. 20--ELLWOOD CITY, Pa. -- ESB Financial Corp., the parent company of ESB Bank, reported third-quarter earnings of $2.6 million, or 25 cents per diluted share, compared to earnings of $2.2 million, or 20 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago quarter.
For the nine months ending Sept. 30, ESB had net income of $7.4 million, or 70 cents per diluted share, compared to net income of $6.2 million, or 58 cents per diluted share, in the year-ago period. ESB's net interest margin improved by 20 percent for both the quarter and year-to-date, said Charlotte A. Zuschlag, president and CEO.
