Air-conditioner maker Lennox International announces informal SEC inquiry.

Oct. 22--Richardson-based Lennox International Inc. disclosed in a regulatory filing Thursday that it is the subject of an informal inquiry by the Securities and Exchange Commission. Lennox also released its long-delayed financial results for 2003.

"The company will continue to cooperate with the SEC staff in its continuing informal inquiry, but the company is unable to predict the ultimate outcome of this matter," Lennox stated in its Form 10-K.

The SEC did not return a telephone call seeking comment.
