Battered Unilever contends with dividend fears.

Oct. 27--Concerns are growing over Unilever's ability to pay a dividend.
The news will be a blow to investors in the accident-prone consumer products group, which issued a shock profit warning last month.
Third-quarter results today will make unpleasant reading. Last month's earnings alert painted a dismal picture for the Anglo-Dutch group, which has been hit by a European slowdown in consumer spending. Operating profits are set to be flat at around 1.3 billion pounds.
Analysts believe the maker of Domestos and Dove will have to write off a chunk of the 8.4 billion pounds "goodwill" value of its many household brands at some point.
