New Mexico minor league hockey team wins U.S. Air Force marketing award.

Oct. 28--ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The New Mexico Scorpions have beaten the Houston Astros.
The local minor league hockey team learned Tuesday that it won the U.S. Air Force's American Spirit Award, presented annually to a civilian organization or business that has displayed extraordinary support and patriotism through its marketing of the military branch.
Air Force Staff Sgt. Lesley Waters, with the 367th Recruiting Squadron's public affairs office in Colorado Springs, Colo., said he did not know who the other top contenders were, but in the end it came down to the Scorps and the Major League Baseball team from Texas.
