Oct. 29--Greer-based Ryan's Restaurant Group announced Thursday that Greenville businesswoman Vivian A. Wong, chairwoman of Pacific Gateway Capital LLC, has been nominated as a director to the company's board.
Wong would fill the vacancy left on the board by last month's kidnapping and murder of Upstate businessman Jim Cockman. Wong, whose company specializes in U.S.-China trade and investment, will stand for election along with the six current directors, each nominated to a one-year term, at the company's annual shareholder meeting in April.
