Oct. 27--The city is in a frenzy: Allan Leighton is up to something; they think they know what it is, but they won't be sure until he makes his move. As for Leighton, he's dropping tantalising hints here and there. He s quitting half his directorships and no, he's not spending more time with his family ("they don't want me to"), there is definitely something up his sleeve ("it's my intention to do something else"), it's likely his new project will be in retail ("I have always been pretty open-minded about the roles I take on but most things have an aspect of retail about them"), just wait and see ("the New Year is a time when lots of things happen").
