Nov. 3--Oregon Democrats took over the Senate for the first time in a decade in Tuesday's election, and were poised to narrow the Republicans' majority in the House.
Thanks to clear wins in all but one of the state's targeted Senate races, the Democrats appear likely to hold 18 of the chamber's 30 seats when the Legislature convenes in January. Democrats, who lost the majority in 1994, were in a 15-15 deadlock with Republicans last year.
