Workers comp rates to fall in Florida.

Nov. 4--NCCI Holdings Inc., the firm that makes rate filings on behalf of workers compensation insurers, has agreed to go along with the state's request for a 5.1 percent premium decrease.

The decision, announced Wednesday, is especially good news for the state's hard-hit construction industry, which will see rates go down an average of nearly 12 percent.

"The additional rate relief the filing provides is very important for Florida businesses," said Bob Lotane of the state Office of Insurance Regulation. "We're grateful for NCCI's quick action to move this forward."
