Sale of Robert Mondavi could spark more California wine producer buyouts.

Nov. 5--With the Robert Mondavi Corp. coming under control of the world's largest wine conglomerate, industry experts predict more California wineries will be swallowed by international giants.

The state's signature agriculture industry has been consolidating for the past few years and additional deals could be in the works as competitors try to keep up with fast-growing Constellation Brands Inc. of New York.

Household California names like Sutter Home and Kendall-Jackson are mentioned as possible targets of world beverage heavyweights Brown-Forman Corp., Diageo, Allied Domecq and others.
