International Steel Group leader scopes out lay of the land at new property.

Nov. 11--EAST CHICAGO, Ind. -- An almost 30-year steel industry veteran from stints at U.S. Steel Corp., Nucor Corp., Pechiney Rolled Products and Lone Star Steel before becoming CEO of ISG, Rodney Mott is adding another mill and its 4,500 workers to his responsibilities.

He began touring the new turf last week in a visit to Ispat Inland Inc.'s mill, which is located immediately across the Indiana Harbor Ships' Canal from International Steel Group Inc.'s Indiana Harbor plant.

Mott, 52, was recently tapped to be head of the U.S. division of Mittal Steel, which is slated to become the world's largest steelmaker after International Steel Group Inc. is acquired...
