University of Missouri president lauds workers for health care system's shape.

Nov. 11--Employees at University of Missouri Health Care have had a pretty good year. Optimistic new leadership has signed on, the system is turning a profit after years of hard times, and yesterday they even got ice cream.
University of Missouri President Elson Floyd visited several MU Health sites yesterday afternoon to congratulate workers and administrators on the financial turnaround. The number floating through the crowd was $26.4 million -- the net income reported by the health system in fiscal year 2004. The system generated total net operating revenue of $488 million. The full year-end financial report has not yet been released.
