Moving at high speed, British Telecom sees Internet problems ahead.

Nov. 12--New revenue streams are taking off at BT but chairman Sir Christopher Bland needed to assure investors that a boardroom row is not heating up as well.

A 36 percent jump in sales from "new wave" broadband internet connections and big corporate contracts more than offset a 6 percent slide in income from phone calls and dial-up internet in the last three months.

The rate of decline slowed from the previous quarter.

BT is worried that it will not be able to compete with rivals who install their own kit in its 500 busiest telephone exchanges if regulator Ofcom will not let it slash the wholesale charges which its retail arm must pay for internet...
