Retired Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel executive Robert Lauterbach dies.

Nov. 13--Robert Emil Lauterbach, retired chairman of the board of directors and chief executive officer of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., died Tuesday. He was 86.

Mr. Lauterbach began his career with the Pittsburgh Steel Co. shortly after his graduation from Westminster College in New Wilmington in 1939. There he steadily rose through the ranks, serving as treasurer, assistant secretary, vice president for administration and planning and vice president of sales until the company merged with Wheeling Steel Corp. in 1969.
