Annexation plan has Orange County, Fla., stewing.

Nov. 16--Some property owners around the International Drive tourist corridor may soon become part of Orlando -- like it or not.

Orlando officials acknowledged Monday that if they annex 1,800 acres near the Orange County Convention Center where a developer plans to build a resort, they will probably annex nearby properties even if they have to do it against the landowners' will.

That possibility -- and the threat of losing as much as 10 square miles of the region's most valuable real estate -- has Orange County Chairman Rich Crotty girding for war with Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer.

"This is the Trojan horse," Crotty said about Dyer's plans for the resort property....
