Japan firm Fast Retailing to sell Uniqlo-brand clothing in United States.

Nov. 18--TOKYO -- Fast Retailing Co. said Thursday it will set up a subsidiary in the United States this month to start sales of its Uniqlo-brand casual clothing in the country.

The United States will be the fourth foreign market the company has entered following Britain, China and South Korea, company officials said.

The clothing store operator will establish wholly owned subsidiary Uniqlo USA Inc. in New York with $6 million. Nobuo Domae, managing director of Fast Retailing, will head the unit.

Fast Retailing said it plans to sell fashionable, high-quality and reasonably priced casual clothing to U.S. consumers of all ages.
