Nov. 19--More freshman are enrolling at Coastal Carolina University, more young men are being admitted, sales of university logo items have tripled, and area hotels and restaurants are seeing spikes in business.

Blame it on football.

The game debuted at CCU last year and, according to the school's enrollment office, has elevated the university to the status of "highly desirable educational choice" for many S.C. students and parents.

A 2003 study by Coastal's business department projected that the introduction of football might generate more than half a million dollars in the first year.
