Nov. 19--The Redfield Rural Fire Department has been awarded $15,003 for operations and fire safety, according to a press release.
The grant came from the Assistance to Firefighters Grant Program, which is administered by the Department of Homeland Security's Office for Domestic Preparedness and the U.S. Fire Administration.
Nationwide, 157 grants were awarded to fire departments through the program.
This round provides more than $11 million "to help local fire departments purchase firefighting equipment, fund firefighter health and safety programs, enhance emergency medical services programs and conduct fire education and prevention programs," according to the...
