Nov. 22--Ladies and gentlemen, start your holiday engines.

This should be the busiest Thanksgiving for travel since before the Sept. 11, 2001, terror attacks, according to analysts who say consumers are buoyed by the recovering domestic economy.

Even gasoline prices that are about one-third higher than a year ago are not expected to keep travelers off the streets and out of the skies.

"Our offices have been hopping," said Georjeane Blumling, spokeswoman for AAA of Tidewater. "It appears people are confident and ready to go."
