Nov. 22--Randall Lewis doesn't look back.
The executive vice president of Lewis Operating Corp. in Upland supervised the company's shift in January 1999 from building single-family homes to building retail centers and planned communities.
That decision wasn't easy: Lewis' parents, Ralph and Goldy Lewis, founded Lewis Homes in 1955. Eventually managed by Lewis and his brothers Roger, Richard and David, Lewis Homes established a reputation for producing slightly upscale single-family homes.
