South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. delays deadline for dock requirement.

Nov. 23--Homeowners and marinas on Lake Murray are getting an early holiday present: two extra years to enclose the plastic foam on which their docks float.
South Carolina Electric & Gas Co. announced the extension on Monday, after warnings that dozens of docks, including those of at least three marinas, wouldn't meet the Jan. 1 deadline.
Those with docks now will have until 2007 to meet the SCE&G requirement adopted in 1999 to beautify the 47,500-acre lake it runs.
Marina owners, many hit hard by a drawdown for dam improvements, say they are pleased.
