Pennsylvania universities cater more to collegiate desires.

Nov. 25--Angie Ullah loves her student union at Penn State, but she's seen better. At Rutgers, the student center has three convenience stores. Seton Hall's has a McDonald's and Pizza Hut.

The HUB-Robeson Center at Penn State has a Sbarro, a Panda Express, a Chick-fil-A, a burger joint, a salad bar, a sushi bar and a Mexican carry-out. "I'm kind of disappointed by the food choices here," said Ullah, a 22-year-old management major from Hillside, N.J.

Forget the ivory towers of academia. Today's college kids are demanding student centers full of frills and amenities, from a glass atrium, a sports bar, a movie theater and 24-hour study lounge to a wide array...
