British radio station owner chastises BBC for ad sales reportage.

Nov. 24--Classic FM owner GWR hit out at the BBC for acting too commercially as it reported sluggish autumn advertising income.

Sales were down 8.7 percent in October compared to last year and will be 6.6 percent lower in November. Chairman Ralph Bernard forecast a smaller fall in December. He blamed the "short-term blip" on fewer campaigns by retailers and phone companies.

Hardest hit are its local stations, where Radio 1's revival has taken its toll. Sales were up 1.2 percent in the first half of the year. Bernard paid tribute to Radio 1 breakfast DJ Chris Moyles, admitting: "That show is hot."
