Wisconsin Rapids, Minn.-based Northland Cranberries reports net income increase.

Nov. 30--Northland Cranberries Inc. on Monday reported higher net income for its fiscal year, which ended Aug. 31.

Net income was $18 million on net revenue of $74 million, according to a news release issued by the Wisconsin Rapids-based corporation.

That compares with net income of $6.6 million on net revenue of $96.5 million for the year ended Aug. 31, 2003.

The higher 2004 net income included $6.2 million from the recognition of deferred income tax benefits, $5.3 million from debt extinguishment, $3 million related to a litigation settlement regarding the sale of Northland's private label juice business, and $2.9 million related to the sale of property and...
