Dec. 3--TOKYO -- KDDI Corp. said Friday it will repair a program defect in the W22SA model of its au brand mobile phone handsets which causes problems with their mail functions.
The major cellphone company said the W22SA model produced by Sanyo Electric Co. is not able to secure enough storage capacity for mail-related data due to the defect in its program, so that users may not be able to receive mails and the cellphones may reboot automatically when users are using mail functions.
The company said it will rewrite the handset's program at au outlets.
As of Dec. 2, there were about 10,000 users of the model.
