Lyondell Chemical acquisition of Millennium gives it a Beaumont, Texas, plant.

Dec. 3--Lyondell Chemical Co.'s recent acquisition of Millennium Chemicals Inc. also brings a Beaumont chemical plant into the Houston-based Lyondell's corporate portfolio.
Beaumont-based PD Glycol, a manufacturer of ethylene glycol used in making automobile anti-freeze, hydraulic fluid, fuel additives and solvents, was a joint venture of Lyondell's and Millennium's known as Equistar Chemicals.
Lyondell owned 70.5 percent of Equistar and Millennium held 29.5 percent.
Both now are wholly owned subsidiaries of Lyondell, said spokesman David Harpole.
