Parkway extension aims to offer gateway into Warner Robins, Ga.

Dec. 5--WARNER ROBINS, Ga. -- When dignitaries gather this week to mark the opening of the Russell Parkway extension, they will meet at the intersection of Houston Lake Road and Russell. Behind them will be blacktop and open land.
How open and for how long will be up for discussion in the coming months.
Developers who have waited as long as the extension has been planned -- 25 years in some cases -- will now be looking to cash in on their investments. Meanwhile, the city is looking to right the wrongs of its many unplanned growth spurts.
