Lancaster, Pa., boiler business shifts city operations to township.

Dec. 4--Burnham Holdings Inc. is moving some operations four miles west because a Midwestern competitor is moving 750 miles east.
Burnham said Friday it will shift its residential boiler business, and apparently hundreds of jobs, from four sites in Lancaster City to gain efficiency and add room for growth.
The business will be consolidated into two adjoining buildings on Old Tree Drive in East Hempfield Township, which Childcraft Education is vacating in favor of Rapho Township.
A Burnham spokesman would not disclose the number of workers involved or the project cost, but a state official said the project will retain 495 jobs and the state is providing...
