Udon Thani, Thailand, gas reserves show promise.

Dec. 7--Amerada Hess (Thailand) Co is in the final stages of natural gas exploration at Phu Horm, a survey tract in the northeastern province of Udon Thani, and will likely confirm the presence of hydrocarbon reserves large enough for commercial production, according to a senior official at the Energy Ministry.
The US-based concessionaire is drilling five wells, with preliminary results showing unconfirmed natural gas reserves of 0.6-0.8 trillion cubic feet.
Once the exploration is completed, the larger reserves could be found to be larger than earlier, more conservative, estimates had predicted, said the source.
