Dec. 5--NEW ASSIGNMENTS
--Tim Tippit has joined Middle America Cox in Tyler as vice president of public affairs and government relations, Janet Barnard, MAC vice president and regional manager, announced.
Tippit will be responsible for all of MAC's public and government affairs activities in a seven-state region, which includes Texas and Louisiana. He has more than 25 years of experience with SBC Communications Inc., 15 years in regulatory and public affairs. Most recently he was regional president of external affairs for SBC Southwest.
--Merrill Lynch's Tyler office announced the return of Byron Meads as a financial adviser.
