Internet venture could cost CAT Telecom chief his job.

Dec. 8--The president of CAT Telecom, Withit Sujjapong, may lose his job after the Council of State issued a legal interpretation that his ownership of an Internet-related firm dealing directly with CAT Telecom could be construed as a conflict of interest.

Having private business dealings with the state enterprise was tantamount to conflict of interest, the government's legal advisory body opined.

Mr Withit said he was ready to step down if the ruling is officially announced and the issue raised at a meeting of the CAT Telecom board.
