Review is likely to delay University of Massachusetts's law school plan.

Dec. 8--The University of Massachusetts' controversial plan to acquire a law school in Dartmouth faces a likely delay of two or three months, after the attorney general said this week that state officials should perform a thorough review of the plan.

The state Board of Higher Education asked Attorney General Thomas F. Reilly to clarify its role in the approval process last month, after UMass leaders said they expected the board to take the quicker, simpler step of transferring degree-granting authority from one school to the other.
