Phishing is a problem for all Internet browsers, warns Danish security firm.

Dec. 14--Take heart, Internet Explorer users. Now it appears that virtually every Internet browser program -- not just yours -- poses a security risk.

The Danish security firm Secunia urges all Web surfers to exercise extreme caution online after it discovered that browsers generally don't protect against "phishing" expeditions launched through pop-up windows appearing on legitimate Web sites, such as those of banks and other financial institutions.

Phishing -- creating fake e-mails or Web pages that mimic legitimate ones to lure private information out of people -- ranks among the Web's chief threats and has cost online consumers about $150 million this...
