India investigators seek unedited 'sting' tapes tied to defence deals.

Dec. 13--NEW DELHI, India -- The CBI has sought original unedited tapes from Tehelka on the sting operation it conducted exposing corruption in defence deals.

The CBI expects to receive the 105 hours of unedited tapes on Monday. Sources said the original tapes needed to be compared with the edited ones and transcriptions received from the department of personnel and training on November 25 after the Cabinet Committee on Political Affairs decided to replace CBI with the Justice Phukan Commission to probe the scandal.
