Dec. 20--MYFI CUTS THE CORD ON SATELLITE RADIO: Satellite radio is everywhere, transmitting signals from orbit that blanket the nation, but until now the only practical places to listen were your car or home.
MyFi, a new portable receiver manufactured by Delphi for XM Satellite Radio, does a brilliant job of cutting the cord, and should add to the stampede of new subscribers in what is already a very hot category.
The $349 MyFi (www.shopdelphi.com) isn't perfect, but in my tests the silvery seven-ounce receiver almost always got a signal when I was outdoors. Included in the box are kits for docking the MyFi at home and in a car, with external antennas...
